After Belonging Academy

2016

Collaboration with Ignacio G. Galán, Carlos Mínguez Carrasco, Alejandra Navarrete Llopis, and Marina Otero Verzier (After Belonging Agency)

Sponsored and organized by the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO)

The Academy is a forum that brings schools and students from around the world into a global dialogue and knowledge- sharing experiment, reflecting on the topics of After Belonging. Discussions include new forms of residence, contemporary states of transit, and the ways in which architecture and design are responding to the transformation of belonging. The Academy projects the concerns of the Triennale into the future by introducing long-lasting academic conversations and collaborations between multiple universities, which are intended to have an impact on architectural education and practice.

The Academy focuses on Oslo’s neighborhood of Grønland as a case study to analyze the larger circulatory processes taking place in and around Oslo, and how these processes have affected the definition of contemporary spaces of residence.
